Is the 2020 Acura RDX Compatible with Android Auto?
It can feel almost impossible to keep up with technology these days. Updates and replacements come out at a rapid pace. The moment you buy a new phone or laptop it feels like the next generation is coming out and whatever you bought is out of date. It can be a pretty frustrating feeling.
You can usually survive with software updates, but it’s not easy to update some things. Our cars are packed with all sorts of technological features these days. Unfortunately, we can’t just plug our cars into the computer overnight and download new updates. Some cars can take updates over-the-air which can save a lot of headaches. The 2019 and 2020 Acura RDX models will be getting a new update.
2020 Acura RDX Android Auto™ Compatibility
From launch, the 2020 Acura RDX was compatible with Apple CarPlay™ which made it a fun and entertaining vehicle. Apple phones were able to easily pair with the True Touchpad Interface™ home screen to access a lot of different functions. Drivers who owned an Android phone weren’t able to connect to their RDX until recently.
Acura is rolling out a new update to give 2019 and 2020 Acura RDX vehicles Android Auto™ compatibility. Drivers simply need to navigate to the touchpad’s home screen and check the update button. Once it is accepted, the update will begin to download over-the-air while the RDX is driven or parked. Your RDX does need to be on and running to initiate the update. After it is completed, drivers should be able to connect to their RDX with ease.
