The standard engine type of the 2019 Acura MDX is a 3.5 L direct injection V-6 engine. This engine provides 290 horsepower at 6,200 rpm. It also can create up to 267 lb.-ft of torque at 4,700 rpm. This engine has a compression ratio of 11.5 to 1.
2019 Acura MDX hybrid engine type
The other engine option for the 2019 Acura MDX is a hybrid engine, which gets vastly different ratings for the motor itself and the complete system. The front motor is rated at 47 horsepower at 3,000 rpm and 109 lb.-ft of torque at 500 to 2,000 rpm. However, the Sport Hybrid SH-AWD is raised up to 257 horsepower at 6,300 rpm and 218 at 5,000 rpm. The system combined power is rated at 289 horsepower and 289 lb.-ft of torque for the Hybrid model, which even beats out the standard engine type in terms of torque, and nearly ties it in terms of horsepower.
