The standard engine on the 2018 TLX is an aluminum block, direct-injected 2.4L inline-4. This powerhouse is capable of cranking out up to 206 horsepower at 6,800 rpm, and 182 lb ft. of torque at 4,500 rpm. Thanks to its Intelligent Variable Timing and lift Control (i-VTEC®) technology, the horsepower in this engine is increased thanks to the intake valves being open for longer periods of time.
Available on the 2018 TLX is a 3.5L V-6 is able to produce up to 290 horsepower at 6,200 rpm. Just like the inline-4, the V-6 benefits from (i-VTEC) technology, as well as a precise and effective air/fuel mixture. This mixture is possible thanks to the direct injection of fuel into each cylinder through a multi-hole injector.
The super-handling all-wheel drive engine option on the 2018 TLX provides drivers with high performance on dry roads as well as providing exceptional handling on roads that are less than ideal. The engine is able to constantly monitor and change the level of power distributed between the front and rear wheels in order to provide the optimal driving experience.
